Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026.
This policy explains how Clean Slate Water, LLC (“Clean Slate Water,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use cleanslatewater.com, the Water Advisor, and our quote, contact, and filter-service forms. Questions: legal@cleanslatewater.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, email, phone, ZIP code, home ownership, water source and utility, water concerns, system and package interest, notes, and your consent choices.
- Water Advisor answers: the answers and any lab values you enter, plus the resulting assessment if you choose to include it with a request.
- Files: photos, water reports, or other files you upload with a request.
- Visit details: the page you came from and campaign tags in the link (for example, “utm_source”). With your permission, basic usage events such as “advisor started.”
How we use it
- To respond to your request, review your water information, prepare a quote, and arrange installation or filter service.
- To follow up by email, phone, or text about your request and, if you agree, about related products, filter reminders, and offers. You can opt out at any time.
- To run, secure, and improve the website, including preventing misuse of the Water Advisor.
- To meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
The Water Advisor and AI
Advisor answers stay in your browser tab while you use it. To write the plain-language explanation and answer follow-up questions, our server sends a summary of your assessment — not your name or contact details — to an AI service provider. Your ZIP code may be included. We record a hashed, anonymized network identifier with each AI request to limit misuse. The Advisor is informational and is not a water test or medical advice.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed to serve you:
- Installation and service partners: independent local installers and equipment suppliers who need your details to assess, quote, install, or service your system.
- Service providers: companies that host our website and data, provide AI processing, manage customer communications and records (CRM), and send messages for us. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
If we ever share information with partners for their own marketing, we will ask for your permission first.
Text messages
Marketing texts are optional and never required to request a quote. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing.
Photos and reports
Uploaded files are kept in private storage linked to your request and are not available through public links. Only our team and the partners working on your request can access them. We aim to review files for deletion after 180 days unless they are needed for an active project, and you can ask us to delete them sooner.
Cookies and analytics
We store your cookie choice in your browser. Usage analytics run only if you accept them, and never include contact details, addresses, report contents, notes, or file links. You can change your choice by clearing your browser storage for this site.
How long we keep information
We keep request and customer records as long as needed to serve you, support your system and filter service, and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify them.
Security
We use access controls and private storage to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t upload anything you don’t need us to see.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete your information, or opt out of marketing, by emailing legal@cleanslatewater.com. Depending on where you live — including Virginia under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act — you may have additional rights, such as obtaining a copy of your data, opting out of targeted advertising or “sales,” and appealing our decision on a request. To appeal, reply to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Children
This site is meant for adults making decisions about their homes. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be posted on this page.
